AUBERGE’S HIDDEN GEMS

For many, the mention of Auberge Resorts Collection draws to mind their iconic portfolios in Napa, Cabo, and the ski regions – and for good reason. Properties like Auberge du Soleil, Chileno Bay, and Hotel Jerome are long-time favorites of travelers with high standards for service and design. But for all of the brand’s esteem, many Auberge properties still seem like the best-kept secrets of their regions. Their domestic offerings, especially, have hidden gem qualities that reflects a collection driven by authentic hospitality.

Spring and summer are the perfect seasons to discover some of Auberge’s treasures around the U.S. Check out a small sampling of some of our favorites and keep in mind that children under age 10 enjoy complimentary meals from the kids.

Wildflower Farms, Auberge Resorts Collection | New York

Just 90 minutes from New York City, Wildflower Farms offers serene rustic luxury. There is no ‘hotel’ here; all accommodations are standalone units sprinkled around the property for optimal privacy. The estate is meant to be explored and each cottage, cabin, and suite comes with a lantern, binoculars, and shears so guests are always prepared to spot a family of deer or pick a wild bouquet. The Farm is a year-round destination, but the warmer months are not to be missed. Popular activities include herb harvesting, beekeeping, honey tasting, farm-fresh egg harvesting, expert-led stargazing, and botanical mixology. This is also the place to watch foliage turn in late summer and early fall.

Primland, Auberge Resorts Collection | Virginia

If you grew up dreaming of living in a tree house, add Primland to your travel list. Tree houses are one of four accommodation offerings at Primland, and all are surrounded by Virgina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. The experiences are as customizable as the room types. The property features an 18-hole course for golfers, archery and all-terrain driving for the adventurous, and croquet and s’mores for those looking for those feeling low-key.

The Vanderbilt | Rhode Island

Originally a mansion built by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, the hotel is a sophisticated retreat in the heart of downtown Newport. Old world glamour meets approachability in the rooms and dining spaces, and there are ample opportunities to dive into local traditions: oyster hours, martini sessions, secret absinthe bars, polo matches, and cruising on the Vanderbilt’s yacht are just a few of the hotel’s time-honored offerings of the area. Newport is an East Coast staple, and the Vanderbilt is a contemporary immersion into the city’s legendary history.

Auberge also has several exciting developments on the horizon, including The Dunlin, a brand-new riverfront property in Kiawah, South Carolina. The collection has over 20 properties in the U.S. alone! See all of them here.
