2 Days in Washington DC

Washington DC is a melting pot of flavors and cultures emulated through its popular dining scene, house staples, and historical yet modern exhibits and events. With cherry blossom season in full bloom, we’ve got just the fix for a day in DC.

Cherry Blossom

The Washington Monument grounds are known this time of year for showcasing the iconic Cherry Blossom Trees, which usually bloom from the end of March into early April. While weather dependent, Cherry Blossom season lasts about one month and provides a beautiful backdrop for those looking to explore Washington DC as we head into spring.

The White House Easter Egg Roll

The White House hosts their annual Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn, allowing lucky guests to partake in Easter activities, games, and live entertainment. This year, the Egg Roll will take place on Monday, April 10th.

The tradition dates back to the 1870s, when children would head to the Capitol grounds to roll eggs on Easter Monday. After this tradition was formed, congress passed a law forbidding the use of the area for children's play, intending to preserve the grounds.

In 1876, President Rutherford B Hayes declared that any child wishing to partake in the Easter Monday egg roll would be welcome to do so at the White House. Since then, the White House has continued to invite children and families year after year to carry this tradition forward.
