A Heritage of Hospitality in the Napa Valley
Meadowood provides access to some of the Napa Valley’s most distinguished luminaries and icons through unique programming and one-of-a-kind experiences.
Meadowood Napa Valley has dedicated itself for more than half a century to delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences for visitors looking to retreat to California wine country. Founded in 1961 and acquired by H. William Harlan in 1979, Meadowood has traditionally served as a gathering place for the valley’s social, cultural, and viticultural life—and has furnished the ideal destination for those seeking insider access while visiting. The natural surroundings of the estate and its distinct amenities are unique to Meadowood and continue to offer a welcoming immersion into Napa Valley’s joyful, imaginative approach to recreation and relaxation.
One-of-a-Kind Wine Experiences
From Wine Dinners to Vintner Chats to multi-day Wine Lover’s Retreats, Meadowood provides access to some of the Napa Valley’s most distinguished luminaries and icons through unique programming that enriches guests’ passion for wine by allowing them to meet directly with and learn from the individuals behind some of the region’s most notable wines.
Join The Wine Center October 18–20 for a weekend of behind-the-scenes access to some of the Napa Valley’s most celebrated wineries during the height of harvest season in the upcoming Retreat “Behind the Curtain – Napa Valley at Harvest.” Kelli White, Director of Education, leads guests through an exclusive itinerary featuring a wine dinner with Jeff Smith of Hourglass and Ric Forman of Forman Vineyards; an early-morning adventure to Colgin Cellars, on Pritchard Hill; and a curated tasting that explores the history, growing conditions, and winemaking styles of the Napa Valley as seen by some of its top producers.
Cuisine with a Sense of Place
Helming Forum—the wine-country estate’s central, daily restaurant—is Chef Alejandro “Ale” Ayala. With a distinguished career that spans more than three decades at Meadowood, Chef Ayala’s menus are conceived around the land, farms, and wines of the region. Paying tribute to the Napa Valley's rich agricultural heritage, Forum showcases contemporary California dishes with distinctly Mexican influences, forging a flavorful niche in the culinary landscape of wine country.
Meadowood’s Secluded Valley and Connection to Nature
Opportunities to immerse yourself in nature’s beauty abound at Meadowood, where over three miles of mulched pathways wind through the forested hillsides of the estate and offer a hiking route with views of the valley floor, its many vineyards, and the mountain ranges that cradle the Napa Valley. The Meadowood Labyrinth is nestled along the southernmost trail and presents an opportunity to encourage a reflective experience in a focused and sacred space.
