Where to Dine and Celebrate Dad
Whether you’re in NYC, Out East, Chicago, or on the West Coast in LA, we’ve listed our go-to restaurants for a celebratory Father's Day meal. We kept the vibes classic with a touch of nostalgia as well as added some newer openings in the mix that the whole family can enjoy.
Chicago
Trivoli Tavern
Trivoli Tavern is a dim lit tavern with dark wood interior that serves menu items such as oysters, steaks, and other classic American fare. If you’re looking for a steakhouse with an old school vibe, this is the place to be.
Aba
Aba, meaning father in Hebrew, is a mediterranean restaurant with a California influence. The menu at Aba features dishes of spreads, hot and cold mezze, and seafood with signature dishes of Shawarma-Spiced Skirt Steak and Smoky Garlic Hummus. On Father’s Day, they have dinner specials including the Grilled Angus Hanger Steak with black garlic and rosemary jus and their Drop Dad Gorgeous cocktail.
Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse
Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse has been a staple in Chicago since opening in 1989. It is a classic American steakhouse with a buzzling energy with top steaks on the menu. You won’t be disappointed leaving here without a great meal and time.
HAMPTONS
T Bar Southampton
The Hamptons location of T Bar has the same energy as the buzzy original spot on Upper East Side. A steakhouse and lounge, T Bar Southampton serves steaks, sushi, local fish, and oversized salads.
Le Bilboquet Sag Harbor
One of Four Hundred’s favorites in the Hamptons, Le Bilboquet Sag Harbor is the ideal spot for an upscale dinner to celebrate with waterfront views. It’s the place to enjoy creative cocktails, sip a glass of rosé or enjoy le bar à huitres with the freshest sourced seafood and beloved classics of Cajun chicken and tuna tartare, along a picturesque marina.
Mavericks Montauk
Newer out East, Mavericks is a stylish modern steakhouse with an unobstructed view of Fort Pond. Chef Jeremy Blutstein’s menu showcases local ingredients and products and focuses on fresh, local produce and seafood featuring popular dishes of Grilled Oysters with kimchi and house smoked lardo. If you’re having a burger craving, they have a limited count available as it is an off menu item each night. The drinks are flavorful as the bar has an extensive wine list and ingredient forward cocktails and martinis.
NEW YORK
Hawksmoor
Hawksmoor is another top steakhouse, with an upscale historical dining room, located inside the landmark, United Charities Building. They have an extensive list of starters and meats on their menu along with award winning cocktails and a curated wine selection.
Peter Lugar Steakhouse
A classic Brooklyn steak icon, Peter Lugar remains one of the top steakhouses in New York City. Come here to enjoy sublime steaks with American sides in a German beer hall setting.
Anton’s
If you’re looking for a nice neighborhood spot, Anton’s is one of Four Hundred’s go-to's in the West Village. A mix of Italian and American dishes on the menu, come for a nice meal and an ambiance of an old school feel.
LOS ANGELES
Drake’s Hollywood
Go to Drake’s Hollywood for a cold martini and steakhouse menu in a loungey dining room. The vibe is swanky and sophisticated with an old Hollywood feel.
La Dolce Vita
A restored Beverly Hills landmark, La Dolce Vita originally opened with Frank Sinatra as an investor and has had a handful of Hollywood stars dine. Since renovating and reopening, you can expect a hint of nostalgia with brick walls and red leather booths. The food is Italian American classics with a focus on Italian dishes.
Dante Beverly Hills
Located on the rooftop of the Maybourne Beverly Hills Hotel, New York City’s iconic Dante is newer to Los Angeles as it opened last summer. For seasonal, light fare pizzas and pastas, and aperitivo style cocktails, Dante is a casual yet refined place for brunch or dinner with some fresh air inside the dining room or out on the terrace.
