Detox, Retox and Repeat
Away Spa is a luxurious beach sanctuary dedicated to wellness and detoxifying spa experiences. The sunlit space features neutral colors, delicate white fabrics, fine brass finishes, and includes: seven treatment rooms, a serene couple’s suite, dedicated manicure/pedicure nooks, indulgent spa lounge, lush outdoor basking terrace, and dedicated powder rooms with eucalyptus-infused limestone steam showers and Chanel-inspired vanities.
With all-natural imported materials, including oaks, limestones, and live rich greenery throughout, the bespoke spa menu follows suit with organic rituals and detoxifying relaxation massages, body healing, and skincare treatments. Each treatment room is devoted to nourishing the mind and body through its soothing aromas, atmospheric temperature, and soft textures. Guests are given the option to curate their sound experience through the addition of an in-room Bluetooth connection, making it possible for them to stream their own playlists. Outdoors sits a sundrenched terrace where palm tree shadows provide a reprieve from city life.
Get WET
At WET, you’ll enjoy the two picturesque, recently resurfaced swimming pools which offer the ultimate tropical luxury experience, complemented by top-notch service. Guests can kick back and bask in the South Beach sunshine as the dedicated poolside attendants serve up all-natural cocktails, organic cold-pressed juices, American fare from WET Bar & Grille and refreshing towelettes to keep cool. Guests can also enjoy privacy in a plush poolside cabana while taking in the scene at the WET or tranquil Mini WET pool.
Art at Every Turn
Their refreshed $100 million Art Collection (curated by Aby Rosen) is museum-quality and not to be missed. Both in design and subject, the artworks reference patterns in society. Though the subject matter could feel heavy, there’s a redemptive quality to the pieces that are incredibly alluring. The W is a perfect canvas for the tenor of the artworks with its dark marble walls lit by sunlight reaching through the wide glass doorways. Noteworthy gems include Damien Hirst's Amnesia, a provocative narrative portrayed through hundreds of tiny pills, and the grace of seaside-inspired art photography by French Photographer Jean-Philippe Piter. Local artist Juan Manuel Rozas' hand-painted masterpieces grace powder rooms, ensuring an experiential encounter with refined art at every turn.
Cop Head 69 (2006) by Berlin-Based Artist Dean Sameshima is a vibrant highlight seen here. This piece is acrylic and silkscreen ink on canvas. It was part of a 2006 installation called “Unknown Pleasures” which focuses on invisibility within the gay community. Sameshima forces the viewer to address these issues by having the viewer play “connect the dots” with most of these pieces which ultimately emulate sensual drawings adding to the already sexy atmosphere.
Irma’s
W South Beach’s whimsical outdoor garden Irma’s, formerly known as the Grove, transformed into an oasis and craft cocktail outpost. During the devastation of Hurricane Irma, the Grove’s iconic oak tree collapsed and destroyed the hidden gem. The Grove was reimagined to introduce Irma’s as the newest bar in Miami’s vibrant metropolis. Blending the notion of sustainability, design and luxury into one space, the alfresco bar incorporates salvaged wood and debris from the namesake storm; a playful testament to the city’s resilience and sense of humor.
W South Beach calls you to immerse yourself in a world where design, luxury, and culture seamlessly converge, dive in!
