Recently opened in September 2022, Hotel Barrière Fouquet’s New York continues the traditions of the iconic French brand. Whether it’s hotel’s color palette or brasserie Fouquet’s New York, the heritage of the brand is deeply rooted within the group’s first property in the United States.
Similarly, Groupe Barrière has decades-long ties to the French Film industry, Le Majestic in Cannes is a hub for celebrities during the annual Film Festival and Fouquet’s Paris hosts a gala for Cesar Awards each year. Continuing this tradition, Hotel Barrière Fouquet’s New York has its very own Cannes Cinema Room, located on the property’s cellar level. The cinema can be used for film premieres, special screenings, corporate launches, and other special events.
The Cannes Cinema sparkles with a gold-leaf ceiling, upholstered walls, and a green Art Deco–patterned carpet. Plush seating in shades of gold and green is arranged to optimize sightlines as well as comfort. The Cannes cinema is an essential connection to the Barrière brand, which has cinema in its DNA and decades-long ties to the French and American film industries. Lucien Barrière even helped create The Deauville American Film Festival in 1975, which has continuous support by Groupe Barrière.
